MEET THE TEAM
This team of amazing individuals is the root system of our success. Each team member plays a key role.

Owner & Grower
Stefanie Frankenstein
For 15 years, I was a 5th grade Language Arts teacher in Cincinnati. I loved being a teacher, but the transition to business owner is one of the best decisions I have ever made.

My grandparents owned a greenhouse when I was young and I spent a lot of time there; their business was also called Frankenstein's Nursery.
I am vegan, I love a good market, and I shop locally and sustainably as often as possible. I love lots of colorful things, yet I wear a lot of black. And yes, I love Patchouli (which is, in fact, a plant).

When I am not in the greenhouse I love to travel, drink coffee, spoil my dog, spend time with friends & family, kayak, tend to my personal stock of about 200 houseplants, read & learn about plants, and perform triage on the poor plants that reside in the homes of my friends.

One of my personal missions is to inspire every person who knows me to save insects and spiders instead of squishing them. I hope you remember this the next time you find a spider hanging out in the corner of your office or building a web in your garden.

The Right Hand
Sue Mcguire
Sue & I met at the Oxford Farmer’s Market in 2021, and that might have been one of the luckiest days of my life. This amazing woman adds SO much value to my life and to the greenhouse. She is thoughtful beyond measure, makes delicious treats, has the best unexpected one liners, and definitely keeps me sane.

This is Sue’s 3rd year at the greenhouse, and she can pretty much do it all.
She has a lot of houseplants, loves to garden at home, and is always learning more about plants of all kinds. She puts together some really nice plant combos.
Sue is married to a retired US Navy man, has 2 daughters that are her best friends, and 3 schnauzers named Stanley, Trixie, & Mescha. Puppies and plants are her happy place.
In her spare time she likes to read, cuddle with her dogs, have her picture taken, golf, and try new things. She’s hoping to make lots of kombucha this summer with all the varieties of herbs that she has found here—can you say Pineapple Sage?!

Stephany Plantz
Stephany is a bright soul & hard worker with a positive, laid back mindset. Her love for nature is clear, and she’s always excited to work with and learn about plants. Actually, she's just always excited.

She’s a mother, nature enthusiast, emerging yoga instructor, and lifelong learner. You can practice with Stephany at Oxford Community Yoga!

Stephany has spent the past 2 years adventuring (and misadventuring) with her 4-year-old son, while also pursuing and building her passions and interests-- which brought her to the greenhouse.

Outside of her appreciation for nature as a whole, she’s a backyard gardener who loves being in the dirt...probably barefoot. Her yard is her forever-project, and there's always something she’s working on.

Recently she’s taken an interest in local biodiversity and ecologically conscious landscaping. She thinks it's great that we use eco-friendly methods to maintain the greenhouse, and that we offer a good selection of native plants! It's a wonderful place to learn and share knowledge with other plant people.

Karly Schinner
Karly and I met a few years ago because she is friends with my cousin. In fact, Karly is friends with a lot of people because she has loads of spunk and vibrates positivity.
One night at a bonfire we got to talking about plants and ideas (we’re both idea people), and decided she should start getting her hands dirty at the greenhouse, or as she calls it, the plastic paradise.
-------------------------------------
Hi, I’m Karly! Growing up, I always loved helping my mom in the garden. She’s a natural when it comes to growing plants, but unfortunately, that didn’t come naturally for me.

Fast forward to 2020, amidst all of the chaos, I decided I wanted a new hobby -gardening! I loved the idea of being able to grow my own food and live a more substantial life, so when Stef asked me if I wanted to help out at the plastic paradise, I was in. This is my fourth year and I absolutely love it!

In my free time, I enjoy kayaking, being a dog mom to my two pups, trying new recipes, and tending to my own 100x50ft garden!
(Karly, this is a reminder that if it's not May 15th, do not put your tomatoes out yet. If you’re not Karly, don’t put your tomatoes out yet either).

Market Plant Therapist
Maggie Adams
Maggie has worked at the greenhouse for a few years, and I am thankful for her! Not only does she love plants, she knows her stuff, & she’s one of the nicest people I know! You will catch Maggie most Saturdays at Oxford Market!
--------------------------------------
Hi, my name is Maggie and I am a plantaholic! I am a person with many nick names: Magnolia Marge, Magpie, Peg leg (just to name a few). My love for plants and nature started from the beginning of my first day on earth. My mother would call me her Veggie girl because I turned my nose up at meat, but would dive right into the vegetables.

From a young age, I have always enjoyed helping my mother in the garden and spent many days during the warm months staying active doing so. My true green thumb comes from my grandmother: a 97 year old southern bell who is still President of her garden club.
From childhood to now, if there is any excuse to be outside, around plants, pr in nature, I find it!

I am a natural born adventurer. I love to travel, learn, and experience new things. Backpacking, hiking, kayaking, climbing, music, dancing, cooking, family and friends, animals, and most of all gardening & plant care, are the things I enjoy the most in life! I also hold a “secret” love for floral design & I often put together arrangements for special occasions for family and friends.

I’m a true believer that people and plants go hand in hand. My educational background is in Social Work & Horticulture. I am currently working towards my Horticultural Therapy license, with the intent of continuing to bring people and plants together. I love working with children and teaching them about the plant world and all the things it has to offer!
